Brand managers often ask me how to choose the best creator for their campaign.
I always tell them the same thing.
It all comes down to 5 questions:
1. Will this creator get you closer to your goal?
↳ Awareness, consideration, and conversion each need a different kind of creator.
↳ Their past content shows what results they can deliver.
2. Who's actually watching?
↳ Audience data shows where their followers live, how old they are, and their gender.
↳ If that audience matches your customers, your message reaches the people you want to reach.
3. What else could this budget do for the same goal?
↳ The same budget can go to one big creator, a few mid-size ones, or hundreds of smaller ones.
↳ Knowing what each creator can bring before you spend helps you optimize your budget.
4. Would you trust them to represent your brand?
↳ Their values and tone show whether they fit your brand.
↳ Once you partner, what they've posted before becomes part of your brand's story too.
5. Would this feel like a recommendation or an ad?
↳ The best partnerships sound natural. Give creators a clear brief, not a script, so they can share your message in their own words.
↳ A recent deal with a competitor can make their audience question how genuine the recommendation is.
Every creator decision is a trust decision.
The right creator doesn't just get your brand in front of people.
They give people a reason to trust it.
